Product Details
“Alternating Rhythm” is a symmetrical triangular shawl starting at the center. It combines two-color brioche and a two-color variation of seed stitch to create a varied knitted piece. The edge of the shawl only features the main colour for a couple of final brioche rows.
Although the two different gauges don’t seem to fit together, a certain technique is used to unite them in a way that a uniform fabric is created. As with classic two-color brioche, each row is knitted twice for both stitchpatterns.
Because both stitchpatterns are created from regularly repeating sequences, the knitting process of this shawl becomes a rather rhythmic process. After a couple of repeats the rhythmic stitchpatterns will be knitted quite intuitively.
The second sample uses handspun fingering weight yarn (colourful fade version). The pattern worked perfectly on the much smaller gauge with the smaller needle. And the stitchcounts for the additional repeats are also included in in the pattern.
