Product Details
Amethyst, a form of quartz crystal, is the traditional birthstone for the month of February. It’s name is derived from the Greek word “amethustos,” meaning “not drunken.” Ancient Greeks and Romans believed that amethyst could prevent intoxication and thus would don amethyst jewelry and use amethyst drinking vessels for protection.
The Amethyst shawl worked from the top down. Increases are placed at the edges of every row and spaced evenly across the center to create a semi-circular edge. The upper wingspan is blocked into a horseshoe curve to help keep the shawl securely on the shoulders.
The sample has been bound off using a beaded k2tog stretchy bind off. This uses 334 size 6 seed beads. If you prefer not to use beads simply end using your favorite stretchy bind off method.
Remember that the listed gauge is given for stockinette before blocking.
