Product Details
An Bealach is Irish for ‘the way’. This cowl and headband set was inspired by the Camino de Santiago and its shell symbol, employing a variation of the Purl Shell Stitch. The cowl is worked in the round, while the headband is knit flat and seamed using the kitchener stitch. A section of shaping worked in garter stitch keeps the headband from being too bulky at the back of the head. Use your favourite worsted yarn and a size US8/5mm 16"/40cm circular needle to make one or both pieces! The headband is a great way to use a bit of leftover yarn, as it only takes about 77 yards and can be easily modified to be shorter or longer.
