A crescent shaped shawlette named for Andromeda, who was offered up to the sea monster Cetus to appease the gods after her mother’s vanity angered them. The lace and cables mimic the swirling waters where Andromeda was chained as sacrifice, but Perseus rescued her before she was devoured. This pattern is easy to adjust, with instructions included for both fingering and DK weight yarns.
This shawl is worked from the top down. It begins with an elongated garter stitch tab. The main body of the shawl is worked in stockinette with a cable and lace center panel, and it is finished with a lace border.
This pattern includes both written and charted instructions.
