Apple of my eye - kids beanie

Heard one mom say: "Apple of my eye" to her little baby. So this hat came into existence. When I was small I had a cot beedsheet in similar colors, too. That I used the ladder-like part of my cot as a ladder, climbed the wardrobe, put all things out, and was finally wearing 5 shirts but no trousers is another story.. ;-) And hey, it's autumn, apple harvest time, too! ;-) It has a two color ribbing, followed by bands of red and yellow apples and has a cute little crown at the top.

I knit the beanie from 4 - to 5-ply Acrylic yarn. You can use any similar yarn (Merino, 4-ply sock yarn. some leftovers will do).

As it has at most two colors in one round it's easier to knit than you may think!
