Product Details
The Arctic is the polar region at the northernmost part of the Earth. Although the polar bear is the most illustrious inhabitant of the far north, many other creatures camp out here as well. Eight cute critters have huddled together in this pattern: themoose, reindeer, polar bear, arctic fox, walrus, ribbon seal, arctic hareandmusk ox.
Each animal measures about 7 cm, is a fast, medium difficult project and a great way to use up any scraps you have lying around. They were knitted flat on 1.25 mm needles (UK 18, US 0000) in Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat. All can be done in heavier yarn, on thicker needles and the animals will turn our somewhat larger.
These a make splendid set of hanging ornaments or a cute playset and are a fun way to practise different techniques, such as making i-cords, short rows and some embroidery.
Stitching, stuffing and kneading the animals into shape takes some patience, but the end result will be worth it!
