Product Details
This pattern has been written using UK crochet terms and is suitable for a confident beginner keen to master some new crochet skills and a textured cable stitch. The pattern is a 2 row pattern repeat so you soon get into the rhythm of the pattern and can see clearly where your stitches go as you progress. It can be worked in any weight of yarn, but the pattern is for double knit. I love working with batik and self striping yarns as the colour changing is all done for you creating beautiful effects, and as long as the pattern is simple enough, the yarn and pattern should perfectly complement each other. The pattern name is inspired by an English nursery rhyme involving sheep and wool, and the batik style yarn I used. My husband came up with this little ditty whilst I was making the blanket:
"Baa Baa Batik
For two balls of wool
Something quite chic
And unusual"
And so it became the Baa Baa Batik Blanket. I hope you enjoy making this little blanket.
