Product Details
A baby orangutan doll, knitted flat in pieces, and them seamed and assembled. The face requires intarsia, and the limbs use bobbles and slipped stitches.
The key to making this toy successful is your choice of yarn for the body. You want a rusty red colour, and a yarn that’s either fuzzy, or loosely plied so you can brush it to make it fuzzy.
Materials Orangutan: 50 g worsted weight yarn in rust, 15 g of worsted weight yarn in tan, 10 g of worsted weight yarn in brown, small amount of black yarn, pair of 10 mm safety eyes, stuffing, pair of 4 mm knitting needles, tapestry needle
Materials Rusksack: 15 g of fingering weight yarn, 3.2 5 mm knitting needles, tapestry needle, narrow ribbon or cord (10”) or small crochet hook, small button (optional)
ERRATA: On both legs, there is a mistake for Rows 12-13. It should read, Rows 12-13: Work same as rows 10-11.
