Product Details
Everyone loves a hoodie, and this pattern is both practical and stunning. The hood hugs the face, the cables produce an extra layer of warmth, and optional fingerless mittens can button to the cuffs. Sizes range from Baby to Toddler, but the various sizes are achieved by type of yarn and gauge, not by number of stitches. A lightweight yarn (6.5 sts = 4") will make a sweater for a baby while a worsted weight (4.5 sts = 1") will produce a sweater for a toddler. Yarn requirements for various sizes are provided in the pattern.
The sections are knit flat. Straight needles can be used for most pieces, but a circular needle is necessary for the curve of the neckline and hood ribbing.
Choose from 3 different cables, Double Rope, Honeycomb and Oxox. The cables use just 2 basic crossings, C2R (cross 2 sts to the right) and C2L (cross 2 sts to the left). The crossings are made every 4th row, leaving 3 rows for easy knits and purls. The detailed pattern includes photos, illustrations and charts.
