Original version available through Interweave Knits; this is an updated version with charts as well as written instructions. In this quick, easy, stretchy hat, a simple slip-stitch pattern breaks up potential pooling, while letting hand-dyed yarns take center stage. There are two options for shaping the crown: Version 1 features a strong decrease line three stitches wide, while Version 2 has a more subtle one-stitch line.

Finished Size 18 1/4" circumference and 8 1/2" tall.
Needles Size 7 (4.5 mm): 16" circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn).
Gauge 21 sts and 31 rows = 4" in Slip Stitch Rib.
Version 2 (shown on woman)
Finished Size 19 1/4" circumference and 7 3/4" tall.
Yarn Malabrigo Merino Worsted (100% merino wool; 210 yd 192 m/3 1/2 oz 100 g): #36 pearl, 1 skein/118m.
