Today, I used a number fine yarn for this crochet pattern. However, this stitch pattern can be used with a medium weight yarn also known as worsted weight yarn for a lovely look. If using a thicker yarn, make sure to check how wide the initial chain stitches are to see if that is how wide you want your scarf to be. The thicker the yarn, the less stitches you need for a specific size.
