A bit about Billy Bilby, he is a Greater Bilby The Bilby or Rabbit – Eared Bandicoot is a native of Australia. He is being adopted as Australia’s Easter Bunny.
He is called Yuwaalaraay by Aboriginals and is on the endangered animal list. The Lesser Bilby is already believed to be extinct.
They measure 29 – 55cm in length.
Bilbies are omnivorous. They eat such yummy things as seeds, spiders, larvae, worm’s, snails, bulbs, fruit and fungi.
Bilbies are marsupials, and carry their young in the pouch for about 75 days.
They have very poor eyesight and rely on their hearing and sense of smell, and are mainly nocturnal. And they are really cute!
