Product Details
The Blue Harvest Vest takes its inspiration from the acres of blueberries harvested annually in Canada's Maritime provinces. The fields of ripening fruit dot the landscape throughout the summer in shades of blue and pink against a green backdrop.
The design is based on a simple pattern repeat that interweaves texture, eyelets, and colour. Bobbles around the neckline and armholes pick up the blueberry motif. It is knit on circ needles to the underarm, then flat and seamed at the shoulders. A non-separating zipper is used for closure.
MC - preferably solid or heather colour; CC - low to moderate contrast in a multi-tone colourway.
Sample - size S - worn with positive ease of 15 cm/6 in at the chest for a relaxed fit. Adjustable length.
Tension gauge: 21 sts x 24 rows to 10 cm/4 in measured over patt using 5 mm (US 8) needle (blocked).
Techniques used: tubular cast-on and bind-off, Chinese waitress bind-off (zipper band), working in the round and flat, stranded knitting.
