Product Details
This pattern was originally knitted as a baby blanket for my grandaughter Doris. I had no intention of publishing it but so many people asked I printed the chart as a limited edition A2 signed print then a PDF.
The design is complex, so takes concentration, and a certain amount of skill as it requires floats to be carried for long distances at a time. To make things easier I designed it to be knitted in the round and steeked. This means that you are always looking at the front of the chart when working and always using a knit stitch for the colourwork.
Although I originally knitted it in 4ply with 3.5mm needles there is no reason why it could not be knitted in any yarn weight, although you might want to consider using a wooly yarn as it is steeked.
Gauge has little relevence to this pattern as sizing is not an issue. However it is important that the ribbed and stocking stitch areas sit flat with each other. Therefore the gauge of the rib should match the gauge of the stockinette.
