INSPIRATION: I’ve been a huge Joss Whedon fan since high school. It was the 90’s. His first big hit, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, was still on the air, and the spin-off, Angel, was also hugely popular. When I graduated and moved on to university, it was often a weekly dorm ritual to gather around the common room TV and watch the latest episodes.
So, a few years later, a new show was introduced by this creative mastermind... FIREFLY. It was amazing. It was lush, the world building was very rich, and the characters were fully developed. I fell instantly in love with the world and the characters and found myself sucked in completely. In a time before “steampunk” this show took viewers to the new frontier of wild-west style action adventure...in space! With Captain Reynolds and his crew of misfits, we were introduced to a world more wonderful and frightening than we could have ever imagined.
