Product Details
This is a listing for a pattern for a very "long wingspan" crescent shaped shawl that is comprised of two different lace stitches. The focal stitch of the shawl is a "true" lace that comes to us from Russia. The ornate lace edging stitch is added in the traditional Shetland manner, and gives a beautiful and graceful bottom to the shawl. The shawl measures 74 inches at the widest points across the top and is 26 inches deep at the deepest point. It is made with a heavier of the fingering weight yarns, and is knit on size 7 (U.S.) needles. The shawl requires approximately 900 yards of yarn making it both a perfect first time lace shawl project, as well as the perfect gift. The stitches are both charted and written out line by line. Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).
