Product Details
Chunky “bubble writing” numbers which can be propped on a shelf or mantelpiece, or threaded with a ribbon or string to hang them up. They can also be knit flat in cotton as a washcloth, or appliqued onto fabric or mounted in a frame. Great for marking a birthday or a wedding or anniversary date, or how about an advent countdown?
Each number is composed of an identical front and back, which are then sewn together around the edges and stuffed to form a delightfully squishy, tactile “bubble” number. Or you can just knit a single layer for a washcloth or banner, or to applique it to a sweater or frame it for the wall.
This pattern comprises the numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. 9 is the same as 6, just turned upside down. There is also a simple alternative for number 1.
Make your number any size you like, from super-bulky to lace weight yarn.
Time required: 45 mins to 2 hours per single knitted number (2 to 5 hours for a stuffed number)
