A reversible cowl in baa ram ewe Titus, inspired by the colourful Venetian island of Burano.
Knitted in the round using the ‘double-knitting’ technique to create a reversible fabric, this cowl is inspired by the colourful houses of the Venetian island of Burano, with geometric motifs based on the typical mosaic floors of the region.
The pattern uses double knitting technique, working with two strands of yarn throughout to produce two layers of stockinette back to back, with the reverse side of the cowl being the mirror image (in terms of colour) of the front side. Basic instructions are given in the pattern but if you are new to this technique it is recommended that you view available online tutorials and work a practice swatch. Some links are available on the Skein Reaction website to assist with this.
Yarn required: 160m/175yd in three colours of a 4-ply yarn. Original yarn used was baa ram ewe Titus in Rhubarb, Viking and Bramley Baths.
