Designer Notes
The Cable Jaunt Coat is a long tunic length, positive ease garment that features a-line shaping and a high rounded neck. Cables travel the length of the back from the hem to the neck, and from the hem to the empire waist, highlighted by garter stitch ridges, on the front. The pattern includes pockets, because I really prefer to have pockets in my wardrobe pieces. The pockets are optional. If you wish to skip the pockets, just leave out that section of the pattern.
The Cable Jaunt Coat body is worked from the bottom up in one piece. If you choose to incorporate the pockets, you will work the fronts and back separately for several inches to make slits for the pockets, which are added once the body is complete. Simple set in sleeves are worked separately, then are sewn to the body. The sleeves are primarily worked in the round, with the last portion of the sleeve worked flat.
