This headband is knit with chunky yarn on 6mm straight needles.
This is a lovely headband with waves of very attractive looking cables.
You can use any chunky yarn to make this headband. The yarn used in the photo is Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky.
The headband is 13cm wide and 42 cm long.
This is a fairly easy knitting pattern, with the cables only being worked every 8th row.
I would say that this knitting pattern is suitable for beginners.
