Product Details
Caerleon shawl was designed to make the best use of the generous yardage of Pendragon yarn. It is a sideways shawlette, designed to use up most of your skein. Weigh it at the start and increase until you’re halfway through, then decrease to the end.
Finished Size: 20x78” once blocked, easily adjustable.
Yarn: Avalon Springs Farm Pendragon, 100% Superwash Merino wool, 555 yards/4 ounces (Sample knit in Little Girl’s Dream).
Needles: 24” circular needle size 5 US (3.75 mm), or size to obtain gauge
Gauge: 17 stitches/28 rows per 4 inches in wet-blocked stockinette. Gauge is not critical for this item, but it will affect drape and amount of yarn used.
This shawl is knit from one end to the other. Weigh your yarn at the beginning, knit the increase portion of the shawl until you have used half (or just a little slightly less) of the yarn, then begin decrease portion. For this purpose, a scale which measures grams is best. This shawl used all but 5 yards.
