Chunkie Gussie – for winter dressing fun! Spawned from my original sport-weight Gussie, this gently shaped lace knit is worked in an aran weight yarn this time, adding springy thickness to the fabric. Wide garter stitch bands trim its neckline and hems and balance the diagonal of its lace – a meditative 10 stitch by 16 row repeat, easily mastered. Dress it up or down with layering. Belt it if you like (I do!). Pieces are knit flat, bottom up, with seaming. Enjoy!
SKILLS REQUIREDLong-tail CO, decreasing (skp, sk2p, ssk, k2tog), increasing (m1R, m1L, yo), 3-needle BO, short row shaping, setting in sleeve caps, stitch pick-up around neckline, blocking and seaming.
14 page PDF includes pattern instructions, photographs, schematics, lace descriptions and charts with tips on making lace modifications at shaping points, row tracking grids for managing at-the-same-time instructions, and definitions for relevant abbreviations.
