Product Details
This fingerless mitts pattern is based on my basic recipe for mittens. Knit snugly, they have a nice thick garter stitch cuff to keep the cold from going up your sleeves with the fingers left free to do what you need to do.
Having raised 8 children, I have knit many, many mittens over the years. As the children have gotten older, they have enjoyed fingerless mitts. Maybe it is the convenience of having their fingers uncovered when they need to get out keys or text on their phones. Or, maybe it is just because we live in snowy, cold Iowa and I keep the thermostat in the house too low in the winter!
The matching beanie or mittens in the companion patterns will keep you warm and looking great. Better knit up several sets for the next blast of cold! All three pieces can be made from two skeins of the main color and one skein of contrast.
Yarn: Worsted weight, Color A – 135 yards, Color B – approx. 50 yards.
Gauge: 22 stitches to 4”/10cm.
