Product Details
Open front cardigans are cool, but sometimes they are too cool, if you catch my drift. When there's a chill in the air it's nice to have the option to close the front. This cardigan is designed with exactly that in mind, the collar sections overlap completely at the bust when closed - nice and cozy - but when left unbuttoned, the fronts roll apart just the right amount forming a cool, draped collar.
It is worked top-down in one piece with minimal seaming and has waist shaping at the back. The collar is picked up and knitted on at the end. It is intended to fit with 0 to 3 inches of ease.
The sample shown is knit using one strand fingering-weight cotton and one strand lace-weight alpaca silk but the pattern will work in any dk or sport weight yarn or another combination of lace and fingering weight yarns.
