Product Details
This is a jumper for young children which references traditional Aran knitwear. These are off-white jumpers with cables on the body and sleeves (said to be specific to each family on the islands). The twist here is that there is some colour blocking. It is a cosy winter make for girls or boys and would make a great heirloom piece to be handed down to young siblings, cousins or friends.
It is constructed from the top down in unturned rounds of half trebles using aran merino yarn. The texture is created using cabling (right fronttreble) and clusters. The cuffs and base are finished off using ribbing that is crocheted onto the finished garment.
The cabling pattern is simple and repeated so it is easy to construct once this stitch pattern has been mastered. It is a great way for anyone who is unfamiliar with cabling to try it out.
