Product Details

Tracing its way through the Cascade Mountains is the infamous Highway Thru Hell, otherwise known as the Coquihalla or, as locals call it, “the Coq”. This snowbound highway roughly follows the route of the former Kettle Valley Railway, connecting the coastal rainforest of BC’s Lower Mainland with the desert climate of its interior.

These fingerless mitts are knit bottom up with a thumb gusset formed from increases made across the palm of the mitt. A cabled column runs up the center.

YARN/YARDAGE

Approximately 50-80g (120-190y) DK weight yarn. Shown in The Plucky Knitter Traveler DK.

TOOLS

3.5mm (US 4) needles for preferred method of working in the round, or size needed to get gauge, cable needle, stitch markers, waste yarn or stitch holder, darning needle

GAUGE

24 st / 4” in stockinette and 32 st / 4” in twisted ribbing, unstretched, after blocking

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

short mitts (long mitts)  5½” around (unstretched) by 8½ (11½)” long, after blocking
