What you'll need
Product Details
This is a method to cover any size of straight-sided jar or pot with a lid that screws on or similar (I have some with a sort of ‘bung’ lid). You work the base first, to fit the size, then go up the side, then decrease to keep it in place (IF the jar/pot has a ‘shoulder’), and do the same the other way up to make the cover for the lid. It’s really easy, and the results make good storage pots and nice little gifts, especially if you have small items to go inside such as jewellery or beauty products, or small toys such as marbles or game pieces – even cookies. Most yarns, including the cottons I like to use for this, will stretch enough that the covers can be put on and taken off as often as you like if they or the jars need washing! I also suggest how to work out how much yarn you’ll need, but you do have to do at least part of the work for size, first. There's a simple version for a mustard jar at the end, to make it really clear what to do.
