Product Details
If you haven't worked with velvet yarn yet it can be tricky seeing the stitches, that said the pattern is easy to understand but you will need a knowledge of how to do the Bobble st, as the bobble stitch will be done in the round as well as in a flat piece. You will need 3 different sizes of hooks 3.5, 5, and 6 mm for this pattern.
If you don't have velvet yarn you could use a bulky weight yarn to achieve the pattern. My testers have used 2 strands of worsted weight instead of bulky and another one used Bernat Pipsqueak yarn with fabulous results.
For my gauge - I had 6 bobbles sts x 6 bobble rows in my 4x4 in square but its really not a major issue for the gauge for this pattern.
I used 1 skein of velvet and you will not use the whole ball but a good portion of it and you can use scrap worsted weight yarn for the face and bow.
