Product Details
This is a traditional fair isle hat knitted in Shetland wool. It features 2 coloured ribbing and some old, traditional style OXO patterns originating from Fair Isle in Shetland. Kame is the Shetland word for the unique ridges hills that typify the Shetland landscape. Our simple treeless landscape is a hidden world of peat and bog where flora and fauna abound. Sometimes deceivingly bleak the hills burst into life with plants such as bog cotton, bog asphodel, tormentil and heather depending on the season. The colours in this hat are based on some of those I see on my hikes. The hills have remained untouched for thousands of years and now more than ever should be valued and protected.
