You will require approximately 17m in total of Aran weight yarn (5 colours), a 4.0mm crochet hook, 2 stitch markers, a 10cm x 7cm Styrofoam egg, scissors, yarn needle and ribbon.

It can be crocheted in Fingering weight yarn too using a smaller hook and a smaller Styrofoam egg.
