The inspiration for this cowl came while browsing a stitch dictionary. I knew that I wanted to use a pattern with post stitches to explore the depth that I could achieve with the rustic Ross Farm yarn, so I assumed that I should be looking at cabled patterns. But then I happened upon a few pages of stitch patterns that used whole rows of post stitches for a horizontal effect and I was hooked!
Though designed with a "straight from the farm yarn", I'm hard pressed to imagine any worsted weight yarn that wouldn't work well with this pattern. A tight handspun or flat 2-ply might not have the same depth of texture as a round, plump yarn, but the wave pattern would still show up well.
Required Skills: The cowl is cast on along the circumference edge and joined to work in the round. The stitch pattern uses typical crochet stitches as well as back post single crochet and crochet through the back loop. Directions are both written and charted. There is no tutorial for working post stitches.
