Product Details

Dandelion Clocks is a pretty yet unfussy shawl designed to work well with yarn in semi-solid or variegated shades.

This shawl was inspired by the delicate structure of dandelion seed heads or ‘clocks’ as they often known. Although dandelions are a weed, like many wild flowers they do have a certain beauty to them (providing they’re in a meadow rather than a well-manicured lawn!). I wanted to design a one skein shawl that would work just as well for variegated yarns as semi-solid coloured yarns and the simple yet interesting texture of Estonian star stitches creates interest without being too ornate. The other lace patterns evolve from this starting point, becoming gradually more open and airy until the dandelion clock inspired border which you can add beads to the edge of if you wish.

All lace patterns have small repeats so are written rather than charted.

Notes
Choose a yarn which will drape well, yarns with a high silk content work best, alpaca would also work well, but avoid high twist yarns.
