Product Details
Featuring stranded colourwork knitted in the round, with a picot edging, this cowl is inspired by the Persianware ceramics of William De Morgan in Birmingham Museum which are characterised by the use of turquoise and blue. The design incorporates one of his most popular flower motifs.
Originally designed for the Yarningham 2018 brochure, now available as a download. The cowl may be worked as a DK-weight version (in cobalt/turquoise) using WYS Wensleydale Gems, which is reminiscent of the colours of typical De Morgan Persianware, or as an aran-weight version using Rowan Kid Classic (cream/turquoise version).
Yarn requirement:
DK version: WYS Wensleydale Gems one skein in each of Cobalt & Turquoise
Aran version: Rowan Kid Classic one ball in each of 888 Pumice & 871 Canard. Depending on gauge a second ball of either may be required.
Gauge: DK(Aran) version: 24.5(22.5) sts and 27.5(26) rnds to 10cm/4in, after wet blocking, across all stranded colourwork charts on 3.75mm(4.5mm) needle.
