Product Details
I recently visited India for the first time since living there as a child. It was an unbelievable experience to go back and see this amazingly wonderful and unique country through adult eyes. The trip was full of visual inspiration – the pictures I took were mostly of architecture, inlayed panels, delicate pierced screens. When I some of the tombs in Delhi, I immediately thought of hats. I used the pattern around the lower edge of these domes to create the stitch pattern for this hat. Worked in a simple knit and purl design, with a few cable crosses thrown in for good measure, this is a good hat for a beginner looking to try some new techniques. Sample shown was worked in Elspeth Lavold Silky Wool.
Skills needed: long tail casting on, knitting, purling, decreasing. Gauge: 22 sts/32 rows over 4 in/10 cm on larger needles in stockinette.
