Product Details
These cozy cuffs and mittens were designed as companion pieces to the Amor Delira hat, inspired by the YA novel “Delirium” by Lauren Oliver. Cabled ribbing transitions into a wavey lace pattern on the back of the mittens (palm is worked in stockinette) and all around the cuffs, making for a challenging knit that's perfect for any occasion. The cuffs are worked with two needle sizes to emphasize the flare of the lace, while the mittens are worked at a tighter gauge for greater warmth. Stitch patterns are given in chart form only. Mitten sample was worked in Kettle Yarn Co Lomond Aran in "Ginger". Cuff sample was worked in Storied Yarn Bo Peep Worsted in "Waiting for Something to Happen".
Skills needed: knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, cabling and lace knitting. Gauge: for cuffs, 19 sts/27 rows over 4 in/10 cm in pattern with larger needles. For mittens, 21 sts/26 rows over 4 in/10 cm in pattern with smaller needles.
A suggested substitute yarn is shown below.
