Product Details
Desolation Sound’s shifting textures and geometric lines evoke mountains rising from the sea. The widening rib section shapes this deep cowl, giving it a narrower top that hugs the neck. Reversible cables act as buttonholes, allowing you to decide where to place your buttons—and how many to use—when the piece is done. These cables combine with the ribbing to make an edge that looks as good folded back as it does buttoned up. Desolation Sound is worked flat in one piece, using knit, purl, decreases, yarn overs, and 4-stitch cables. Instructions are both written and charted.
When selecting yarn for this project, look for a soft, bouncy worsted weight yarn with good memory that feels comfortable around your neck, and gives a fairly firm fabric at the pattern gauge. You will need approximately 305 yds/279m.
