Product Details
Meaning unzip in Scottish Gaelic, Dì-Shiopaich has the gusset on the back of the hand rather than around the thumb. This creates a split in the lace pattern which looks like a half unzipped zip! The twisted rib gives the mitts a very snug and neat fit and will stretch to fit a wide range of hands, and the pattern comes with two sizes.
The pattern includes both charts for the cables and written instructions, so however you like to read your patterns, you’re covered! The pattern also includes a photo tutorial for a super stretchy cast-on called the Estonian cast-on for the bottom of the glove and the backward loop cast-on. The pattern has been tech edited and test knitted. There’s a screenshot of the pattern, and a list of the stitches used at the bottom of the photos. You will al need to know how to pick up stitches.
I used 210 (265) m (230 (290) yds) of Fruitful Fusion Merino Cashmere Nylon 4ply (80% Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon, 400 yds/100g) in Sweet Red Apple for the sample.
