Product Details
Drakar is a sock of two halves. The name
means “dragons” in Swedish, and I chose it
because the design reminds me of the
markings down a dragon’s tail.
The dragonish zigs and zags down the front
and the back of the sock separate two very
different halves. One half has vertical ribs
sweeping down the length of the sock, and the
other half has horizontal bars, ridging their way
round the leg and the foot. The gusset features
a delicate section of parallel zigzags,
simplifying into one tiny zigzag that wends its
way down the entirety of both sides of the foot,
neatly delineating the top-of-the-foot pattern
from the plain sole.
This pattern includes the recipe and instructions
for a symmetrical pair of socks, but feel free to make two identical ones if you choose. Either will work well as a pair.
Drakar is a quirky and eccentric sock that is great fun to knit, and even more fun to wear!
