Product Details
This sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down, & uses the contiguous set in sleeves method. Knitting starts with the cast-on of the stitches for the back, the shoulders & some first stitches of the front. You will increase before & after the shoulder stitches on every row until you reach the final cross-back width. From that point increases are done to shape the sleeve caps, at the same time the neck shaping is done by adding stitches to the fronts. Once all shaping is complete, the sleeve stitches are placed on hold, to work the body first to the final length of the neck opening (button placket). From this point the body will be worked in rounds to the short-row shaped bottom. Sleeve stitches are picked up again to work the sleeves in the round top down to the cuffs. Button band, buttonhole band and neck finishing are worked last.
Sample is worn with approx. 6.35 cm (2.5 in) of positive ease at bust.
Sample is knit in Blackhill SilkWool an alternative is given below.
