Product Details
It has long been on my mind to use yarn with different thickness and characteristics to create special fabric. I love the rough contrast of colors and material, the daring color changes, opposites that harmonize with each other. This is a feminine shawl that is full of life with a lovely shape that allows you to wear it as a stole on a theater night or a scarf on a darker day when you need some extra something to keep your mood happy.
To knit this pattern you don’t need much experience. It’s a great choice as your first project using lace weight, but be prepared for very long rows.
The beauty of this shawl is in the yarn. Use whatever lace you prefer, but to get full effect I suggest using fiber with a slight halo. For the heavier weight please be careful, using DK yarn instead of light worsted/worsted. If you need to substitute, I suggest to go down a size and use sport weight to avoid dense fabric. This is a feminine shawl that is full of life.
Sample uses C1: Bessie May Smile, Color: Fair 3110, C2: Bessie May Grace, Color: Mist 9140.
If substituting, use two different yarns: one DK weight, one lace weight. The two yarns should have different texture and/or color.
