For the Endless Peaks pillow, the overlay mosaic technique is used. With this technique, you crochet each round with a different color. To create the mosaic pattern, you work double crochets in the front loops of the underlying rounds. Because these stitches overlay the work, this method is called overlay crocheting.
The pillow is crocheted in the round, allowing you to easily change colors with each round and avoiding a large number of yarn tails that need to be woven in. How to do this is explained with step-by-step photos.
If you want to use this pattern to crochet a blanket, that's also possible. At the end of the pattern, you'll find a brief description of how to do this.
