While I was on vacation in Florida, I happened to be in a craft store and spotted this gorgeous big skein of self-striping pink and white yarn. I could see that it was rife with possibilities, and consequently it jumped into my arms and came home with me to Illinois. I knew that it wanted to be a baby blanket, but not like any of the other blankets that I had recently knitted, so after an interesting beginning which resulted in a massive eruption of yarn barf from both ends of the skein, I finally was able to create this unique blanket. The construction is a bit unusual but I really like the way that it turned out.
This unique blanket is constructed in four quadrants, with each new quadrant joined to the previous part as the blanket is knitted. The seamless bind off allows an invisible join of the first and fourth quadrants.
