My husband wished for a cowl he could use while jogging. It should be quite snug, yet warm and not too thick. And from that wish originated Falling leaves cowl. You can knit it longer, but you need more yarn than the pattern advises. The smallest size is quite snug, the fabric stretches so that you can get it through an adult size head.
