Product Details
My husband and I moved to northern British Columbia in the middle of winter, from the temperate pacific coast.
We broke temperature records that winter, reaching -44 C or -47 F! We went through a lot of firewood.
I was used to the rain forest and cedar trees of ‘down south’. Here was a beautiful boreal forest of pines, spruce and birch.
My husband dutifully split and carried in firewood to keep our family warm and cozy. Wood stoves, previously a romantic notion in my head, truly are a necessity.
The rich texture of the firewood inspired these cozy cabled socks. Which, it turns out, are perfect for fireside knitting and wearing.
These are constructed toe-up, with a gusset and heel flap. I’ve included both charted and written instructions, as well as a bobble tutorial. The pattern comes in 3 adult sizes.
I’m so happy to share this little glimpse into my world. I hope you enjoy knitting Firewood, and thank you so much for your support!
