FishFossilsToe-upSock has lacework on instep and around leg, a faux heel flap worked in either honeycomb pattern done with or without cable needle or knit-slip ribbing. Additional options include tapered or rounded toe, generic or calculated foot length, and Russian or picot bind off. References are provided for most techniques.
DIFFICULTY - Advanced Intermediate. Pattern is written from the perspective of a right-handed, English style knitter using circular needles and assumes sock knitting and chart reading experience.
SIZING - Relaxed Measurements Small: 64 stitches, needle size US 1 (2.25 mm). Fit: Shoe size US 6-7 (EU 36-37), circumference ball of foot 6.0 inches (15.2 cm), foot length 8.75 inches (22.2 cm).
Medium : 76 stitches, needle size US 0 (2.0 mm). Fit: Shoe size US 7.5-8 (EU 38-39), circumference ball of foot 7.25 inches (15.2 cm), foot length 9.25 inches (23.5 cm).
