These fingerless mitts are knit in the round using a stranded/Fair Isle knitting technique. The thumbs are worked by placing stitches onto waste yarn, and then casting the same number of stitches back on to form the thumb opening. The thumb stitches are then picked up and knit once the remainder of the mitt is knit.
You will need one skein of each of the following colorways to knit the mitts as written: #FC56mix (MC) – dark purple; #96 (CC1) – pale yellow, #49 (CC2) – lavender; #28 (CC3) – gold, #123mix (CC4) purple; 1 skein of each colorway. You will not need a full skein of any of the colors to complete a pair as written. All but the MC used a half a skein or less.
Skills Needed: Chart-reading, knitting in the round. (The pattern is written for a set of 5 DPNs, but could also be worked using 2 circulars or the Magic Loop method.)
