What you'll need
Product Details
This flowery blanket uses just 500gms of fluffy lightweight Dk yarn that's easy to knit with (it's also very good at disguising the odd wonky stitch)
It's machine washable at 40 degrees, fluffs up good as new in the tumble dryer and quick to line dry.
The pattern includes a chart, full written instructions & tips for beginners to help keep control of all the yarn (including a pic of a d.i.y sectioned box to keep the yarn separate)
Width 100 cm/39 inches. Length 128 cm/50.5 inches, plus border, so a perfect size for a toddler bed.
4mm straight needles should be extra long (40cm) to cope with the 200 stitches although circular ones used as straight are also suitable. you will need a 4mm crochet hook for the border. (simple dc/US sc)
substitute yarn should have a yardage of about 85m/92y to 25g. (so that the finished weight will be no more than 500g) and knit to a tension of 20st/29r to 10cm. You need 1700m total, ( 340m in cream, light blue and pink, 255m in yellow and mauve.
