Product Details
This pattern was inspired by the beautiful forsythia bush at my parents’ home. It’s been there as long as I can remember, and is one of my favorite signs of spring. My mom and I worked together to choose the stitches for this wrap, which reminded us of the arching branches of the bush, as well as the little buds that appear just before the flowers. The texture of this yarn also gave a natural feel to the design.
Pattern is written in US crochet terms. Yarn: Sport or light DK weight (weight 2 or 3). Approximately 725 yards, including fringe. I used approximately 700 yards of Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool (191 yards/50g) in the color Empire Yellow. A heavy fingering weight yarn may also work for you, just be sure to check gauge! Hook: 4.5 mm, or size needed to meet gauge. Finished size: 72” long by 16” wide, after aggressive blocking. Gauge: After blocking, 7 rows by 14 sts = 4”.
A photo tutorial is included for all major pattern elements.
