Product Details
My Italian grandmother loved Frank Sinatra, although with her thick accent her beloved’s name came out “Frangie Snarfu". This hat was inspired by a photograph of “Frangie", a fashion icon in his day, wearing his trademark hat tilted to the side, looking stylin'. I became fascinated by the challenge of creating a knit fedora, and this is the result.
This snappy knit fedora hat is worked sideways using short rows. It can be worn as a fedora (as shown in the photos), or pulled down on the head to look more like a traditional bucket style hat. The brim can be worn up, down, or both, giving the hat a lot of different looks, easily adaptable to the individual style of the person wearing it.
The pattern contains a photo tutorial on all aspects of short rows used in the pattern, as well as a photo tutorial on the finishing that gives this hat its unique shape.
