Product Details
These gansey socks were inspired by the wonderful fisherman sweaters created in England and Scotland in the 19th century. This sock is designed for a Women's medium size. It can be knitted in three lengths: anklet, crew, or mid-calf. This solid color sock begins with the classic Channel Island Cast-On. Traditional Gansey motifs such as the starfish, diagonal lines, and vertical motifs meet at the baby cable on the back seam. The heel flap is constructed with the slip stitch pattern for longer wear.
Featured Techniques include: The Channel Island Cast-On, German Heel Turning Theory, Kitchener Stitch.
Chart, glossary, schematic, bibliography, and technique photos included.
